After delivering a blistering critique of Hillary Clinton’s behavior in her email scandal, FBI Director James Comey recommended she not be prosecuted.  The Justice Department quickly agreed.

Here’s what’s happening behind the headlines.

Clinton is not yet out of the woods.  If she’s not elected president, then the next attorney-general could hold her accountable for her mishandling of classified documents.

In the meantime, she’s facing related difficulties.  An ongoing FOIA lawsuit has focused on the questionable activities of Huma Abedin, Clinton’s longtime confidante. Abedin made hundreds of thousands of dollars as a private foreign policy consultant while simultaneously serving as Clinton’s top advisor at the State Department.

Abedin, and other State Department officials, have been deposed.  Transcripts have been made public.  But video-recordings have not.

This got the attention of a husband and wife team of documentary filmmakers from Ireland.  They’ve used the actual transcripts to produce a series of videos reenacting the depositions.  In his deposition, the staffer who set-up Clinton’s secret server invoked the 5th Amendment against self-incrimination more than 125 times.  Abedin’s deposition video was just released.

They’re not riveting Hollywood movies but the videos give life to the depositions.

Clinton’s attorneys and Justice Department lawyers were in court this week fighting efforts to depose her.  Conveniently for her, Clinton’s FBI interview was never transcribed or recorded making comparisons for truthfulness to this deposition “if it occurs” impossible.
