7/25/16 DNC Emails

Don’t put anything in email you wouldn’t want to be made public.

Here’s what’s happening behind the headlines.

Democratic Party officials didn’t follow that advice.

WikiLeaks released nearly 20,000 emails from top DNC staffers days ago.  Tongues are wagging over what had long been obvious.  The DNC worked aggressively to damage Bernie Sanders’ candidacy.  On top of it, they weren’t nice.  Party Chair Debbie Wasserman Schultz referred to a Bernie staffer as “scummy” and a “damn liar.”  Another DNC staffer mocked Sanders’ Jewish faith.

Schultz resigned over the revelations.

Here are some of the other emails that captured our attention.

Party bigwigs appeared to ridicule a proposed fundraiser involving New York Senator Kirsten Gillibrand and Hollywood A-Listers George and Amal Clooney [here, here, here, here].

VP candidate Tim Kaine claims he’s pro-life.  Yet, in a fundraising email, he appealed for contributions to help the nation’s largest abortion provider, Planned Parenthood.

The DNC vetted Black Lives Matter activist DeRay McKesson to serve as a party surrogate at public events.

Confirming just how unfair liberal media can be was Politico magazine reporter Ken Vogel.  He allowed the DNC to edit one of his stories before publication. He also appeared to collaborate with the political group in crafting the party’s damage control efforts regarding a Clinton fundraising scandal.

Finally, underscoring how just far behind Congress is with technology advances was epitomized by outgoing DNC Chair Wasserman Schultz.  She’s still using a Blackberry.
