4/5/16 Ignoring Reality

Last week, French President Francois Hollande spoke of American and French cooperation on fighting terrorism.

Here’s what’s happening behind the headlines.

The White House posted video of Hollande’™s remarks.

At one point, the French president said “[W]e’re also well aware that the roots of terrorism — Islamist terrorism — is in Syria and in Iraq.”

The actual words — Islamist terrorism — in Hollande’s original French and the translator’s English were deleted from the audio track.

[Update: After a public uproar, the White House restored the video with the complete audio track to include the previously missing words “Islamist terrorism” as spoken by both Hollande and the English translator.]

This is absolutely crystal clear.  The Obama Administration is engaging in a propaganda campaign to pretend there’s no such thing as Islamic terrorism.

Behind the Headlines was the first to point-out that the FBI’s new website on domestic extremist groups ignored Islamic terrorism. Only weeks before the website was launched Islamic terrorists slaughtered 14 in San Bernardino.

The FBI’s National Threat Assessment for Domestic Extremism also doesn’t mention violent Islam.  Nor does the Department of Homeland Security in its threat assessment document.

President Barack Obama refused to identify the Paris attackers as Muslim, Islamic or as jihadists.  His Secretary of State John Kerry likewise refused to identify the perpetrators as Islamic.

It’s an insult to American victims of Islamic terrorism to pretend it doesn’t exist.
