4/26/16 Silencing Dissent

Federal and state officials swear an oath to uphold the U.S Constitution.  This includes state attorneys-general.  AG’s are the highest law enforcement official in each state.

Here’s what’s happening behind the headlines.

Seventeen AGs announced they’ve formed a coalition supporting the theory of man-made global warming.  They’ve threatened to prosecute organizations that cast doubt on alarmist claims that man is more powerful than nature.  One company and a think tank are already under criminal investigation.

[Update: The Virgin Islands Attorney-General has launched investigations of 90 organizations that don’t support the man-made global-warming hoax.]

The state AGs are not alone.  US Attorney-General Loretta Lynch told a Senate hearing she is considering prosecuting anyone who doesn’t fall in line with man-made global warming theory.

Here are three important takeaways.

This is a direct assault on the First Amendment.  In other words, these AGs are violating their oath of office.

Second, major news organizations have virtually ignored reporting this troubling behavior.

And finally, this is reminiscent of European nations of not that long ago.  Anyone who challenged government-approved theories was labeled a heretic and imprisoned.  That was back in the days when there was overwhelming consensus and scientific fact the Earth was flat and at the center of the universe.

Consider this.  We’re only one Supreme Court nominee away from a majority of five claiming the First Amendment doesn’t apply when it comes to government-approved theories.
