4/25/17 – WikiLeaks

“WikiLeaks walks like a hostile intelligence service and talks like a hostile intelligence service,” said America’s top spy.

Here’s what’s happening behind the headlines.

CIA Director Mike Pompeo blasted WikiLeaps over what it’s published.

But the problem isn’t WikiLeaks.  It’s DOD and intelligence agency officials who’ve leaked classified information.  They violated their oaths of office and non-disclosure agreements.

Four decades ago, the Washington Post and New York Times published the classified Pentagon Papers. These were leaked by an analyst. The Supreme Court ruled the papers were free to publish. The New York Times was rewarded with a Pulitzer Prize.

Senator Mike Gravel entered the classified information into the Congressional Record.

The only thing that’s changed since then is WikiLeaks publishes online instead of on broadsheets.

Insinuations the Russians are behind this are just that.  Insinuations.  They may be.  But no evidence has been offered.

In fact, there’s a theory Democratic National Committee emails were given to WikiLeaks by a DNC whistleblower who was later gunned down. Maybe it was him.  Maybe it was the Russians.  Maybe it was someone else.  If anyone knows, they’re not talking.

Before Pompeo starts criticizing media outlets, he and the other intelligence agencies should get their own houses in order.  It’s their people leaking the information.
