2/27/14 The Terrorists Have Won
There’™s no longer any doubt. The terrorists have won.
9/11 is a day that forever changed America.
But in some respects, what’s occurred since then may be just as bad. Or perhaps worse. Because it’s self-inflicted.
The Department of Homeland Security behaves much like the feared departments of internal state security behind the Cold War’s Iron Curtain.
Cancer survivors are humiliated. Wounded military must disassemble their prosthetic devices. And nursing mothers must dispose of breast milk. Because TSA pretends they pose the exact same threat as 19 Islamic fundamentalists who flew hijacked jetliners into skyscrapers.
Classified documents confirm TSA knows a 9/11-like threat no longer exists. TSA conducts behavioral modification camps. Not in classrooms. But in airline terminals.
DHS claims it has authority to confiscate any electronic device. Without reason or warrant. Within 100 miles of a border or coastline.
The IRS targets non-profits [here, here, here].
NSA collects all phone calls, text messages, Internet searches and credit card purchases. The Soviets and East Germans were never as thorough. Do your Amazon and eBay purchases truly pose a national security threat?
Federal agencies propose monitoring newsrooms to ensure coverage meets government approval.
Government continues to get bloated merely by crying “Âœterrorism” to justify spending billions more.
The people who attacked us in 2001 need to only look at how our government behaves. And how the public is treated. And smile.
